MORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF WADI DARNAH WATERSHED NE LIBYA, USING GIS TECHNIQUES

Wadi Darnah is about 586 km2 and lies in the northern portion of Al Jabil AL Akhdar. The drains into Mediterranean Sea. present study incorporates a morphometric analysis by using remote sensing GIS techniques. Digital Elevation Model (DEM) topographic sheets were processed ArcGIS software. revealed that drainage patterns stream network from basin are mainly dendritic type which indicates homogeneity texture lack structural control. bifurcation ratio value 4.53 area not much influenced geological structure undisturbed pattern. low density group basins (2.09 km-1). elongation (0.36), circularity (0.14) form factor (0.10) show elongated with steep relief, moderate discharge, long main channel. has high relief up to 850 m, leads rate runoff but effect this water flow reduced infiltration capacity due karstification karst features area.
